Concrete
Panels
Horizontal panels for silage,
grain and bulk storage
Thrust Panels
Prestressed concrete panels are designed to BS8110 pt1 and include for the allowance
made in BS5502 pt22. Prestressed concrete panels are manufactured in lengths
up to 6100 (20') and are either 1m wide or 1200m (4') or 1.5 (5') wide and used
in different combinations to provide multiple wall height.
Panels are designed to be flexible and can
withstand impacts from loading shovels. They have a very smooth
finish which normally comes onto the inside of the pit, but
when used for silage it is recommended that the panels are
treated with a propriety brand of sealant or when crop protection
is needed, a fungiside.
The panels also have a tongue and grove
joint to form a complete seal when mastic is used, unlike other
forms of walling, R.C. panels can be easily dismantelled and
moved to other locations.
Vertical panels
Vertical panels are used on a green field site or for a dividing
wall in a silage pit. They are simply concreted into the
base and are tied in with reinforecement to form a free-standing
wall.
